another easy method for changing the injector rate is new size injectors / stock size = new value. so 42lb/19lb = 2.21 so then injector rate multiplied by that 2.21 = new injector rate.

next question I have, are you planning to try and modify the stock memcal to have the changes you need ?

you can use a standard VN/VP tune modified to work with 2 bar boost, but its a bit of a hack and not as nice as using $12P with proper boost support.... but it also requires a VR memcal to fit $12P onto it.

but if you have one of them and a programmer your most of the way there, do you also have a UV eraser ?

hi 202 i do not have a UV eraser i was searching the formus last night and discovered i needed 1

is there an option of going to a place such as JAYCAR and getting a blank memcal? and downloading a $12p map?

do u know of any pre made maps that support boost of 8psi $12p

also just so i can be certain what are the numbers on the ecu box that indicate that it's from vp or vr?

cheers nick

Get an eeprom to go in place. No uv erasing then.

anything with a brown base is a VN/VP memcal, and these had 27C128 chips ... the 128 is the issue, this means you can't put $12P tune on it..... black base is VR and usually either 256 or 512 in size (will both work for your needs) but still all need uv eraser.

the one you posted above is a by the looks of it ST brand M27C256 .... now this will fit a $12P tune on it......

I would suggest you start by soldering that socket in your memcal then you can easily swap and change chips.

assuming the M27C256 is new and blank then you have one chance to get the right tune on it, if you fail then you need to uv erase it also.

what you really need to find is an electronically erasable one to go in place as these negate the need for a uv eraser.

I will shortly respond to your PM also.

I use Winbond W27C512 or SST 27SF512. Both work fine. The Winbond I picked up from China on Ebay.
