I read somewhere wideband input is d8 so i just connect the 5v output of the wideband to d8 on the ecm can someone confirm this in the process of wiring it up just wanted to triple check everything.
I am still using the narrowband as well.
And if i switch from narrow band to wideband in ose12 for ve learn will that work.

yes, hook it up to D8, also theres some wideband constants in the XDF you need double check what your wideband reads at 0V and 5V and put that into the cal so it knows what scale to read the wideband at.

Also dont enable VE learn using the wideband until you have confirmed that the AFR you see in the ALDL stream matches what the wideband displays.

Finally got the wideband setup in the car all working though it is out how do i calibrate it is it VE Learn Params - WideBand 0v AFR and VE Learn Params - WideBand 5v AFR
my data sheet for the wideband gauge says afr 10.00 rich 0.000volts and lean 18.50 4.250 volts at either end of the scale so is it right to put 10.00 and 18.50 into these two parameters.

no coz you need the afr at 5V, not 4.25v to scale it properly. 18.50 @ 4.25v roughly scales to 20.11 @ 5v, try that.

pretty close been driving around with it enabled today and it looks like it is working ok
cruising around it was fairly rich to begin with and now it has come up to 14.2 -14.7 need to get out on some big hills and get the higher map areas happening.
Has anyone got any hints on what afr typically produces the most torque at 100 map on these engines .

well i've seen stock 304 maps with 13:1 afr at WOT ... generally i tune to 12.8 - 12.6 ish and i've even seen tunes with low 12's .... to find out the most optimum for your engine you really need to get on a dyno, i'd suggest aiming for something like 12.6-12.8 ... it might be a bit rich but its safe!

I'll give it a try thanks
at the moment it is way 2 rich like 10 11
i did read something ages ago about slight variants in mixture providing more torque or power.
but i think it was a a chev on a dyno and something about 12.1 for more torque stuck in my head and i think it was a bit leaner for power does that sound right ?.
