Now that you have a comport showing use the oseflashtool to confirm you can connect its probably easier and will show why it won't connect
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

The Flashtool can't find hardware fails to connect. I checked the ses fault codes and the 34code came up
Not sure what 34 is but the code list that I have says it's maf low air flow

Do you have a 12P bin loaded? Did you set the comport in flash tool and the interface type and ecu type etc?

I set comport 3 in the flashtool in the vehicle drop down there is no option for a 12p in a 165. I tried the 12p 808
tried the USB Aldl and the rs232 808 interface. I am only a newbie at this feeling my way and any advise is welcome

The 808 settings with the usb aldl interface are fine for this application.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Mr Willis yes I have downloaded the drivers but still can't access the ECM
Hi Antus I have tried the 808 12p and the Aldl interface settings but no go. Downloaded loaded drivers verified comport 3.
With the flashtool have tried several combinations it scans but has no response. The car runs so must have some thing in there it also flashes code.
