I dont know about the plugs lining up but the VR pcm and loom will certainly run the VS dash fine if you match the wires correctly. its just tacho, oil pressure, engine light, etc.

I don't know that the loom is long enough on the vs it meets up near the brake booster and the vr near the battery from what i remember.
on the v8 you could use the vs v8 loom for both but the vr one wasn't long enough.
Still easy enough to extend it though.

as far as im aware, the VS bcm only communicates with the PCM for the anti theft signal and low speed fan (v6 only), so it shouldnt be a problem. just remember, the VS v8 auto has exactly the same ecu you are thinking of putting in so it will definitely work

I thought he was using a vr manual loom and computer.
If it is the auto loom the vs had 13 pin to the trans the vr 12 in the v8 anyway

haha you are right lol my bad, doesnt change anything tho, the VS V8 manual still had the same computer as the VR V6 manual and other than anti theft and wiring the low speed fan yourself, I dont see any issues witht he BCM.

Yeah but what were the different options in the tune for vs vr bcm like in ose12 the vs or vr anti theft options what changed the signal ?
I remember the bwcs wouldn't run in my vr with anti theft enabled with the vr high or lux bcm
actually that was using a vs harness if that is any different.
With ose12 setup for the v6 will it give him the option of vr or vs antitheft to work with the vs bcm or was the v6 ecotech bcm setup different again.

be great to know the differences in bcm's and functions options etc and what changed.

people have done conversions from ecotec to V8 in a VS before and havent had any problems. PCM wise, thats exactly what you want to do except the PCM will be hooked up to a v6 not a V8. from the point of view of the BCM, it doesnt look any different.
VN, VP, VR manual are all the same wiring and ECU, just VR has 8192 comms and bcm based anti theft added. the VN ecu will even run the VR code if you turn anti theft off in the tune.

if you get adventurous and run it with OSE $12P you can select VS stype anti theft and then you can even keep the anti theft working.
