Re: Immortalities totally random thread
the answer is water/methanol injection into the elbow

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Yes, had definitely considered this however i'm reliably told by another member on this site that the rotor coatings don't like itHolden202T wrote:the answer is water/methanol injection into the elbow

e85 sugar cane.
quite a few friends with fire hose injectors now with their skylines are using this. biggest benefit they have come across thusfar has been lower temps / cooler charge. lower flashpoint as well, higher octane. win.

Re: Immortalities totally random thread
We can't get E85 at the pump here. It's only a specialty fuel which you would have to buy in drums so not an option unfortunately.
Water/meth injection could possibly work if injected into LIM therefore missing blower rotors? Would probably need one of those fancy AEM type kits to make it work?

Re: Immortalities totally random thread
yeah even distribution is going to be the issue injecting it below the blower .... what about just water injection, is that going to hurt the rotors ?

Re: Immortalities totally random thread
Not sure TBH. Years ago I mentioned it to Steve @ MACE and he said injecting before blower wasn't a good idea. Someone of the forum confirmed it too but can't remember who unfortunately.
Water/meth does sound like a great idea though and probably the simplest form of IC really.

Re: Immortalities totally random thread
yeah I'm interested to know more, I have seen people using the eatons on holden 6's with usually a carby on top of them, so I'm guessing its just alcohol fuels that the issue.
on my turbo 202 I see upwards of 120 deg C inlet temps over the 1/4 ..... I would love to be able to measure the temp after the injectors because I know how well methanol can cool, but theres no easy way to do it!
