Since im loading the kernel to a different address than it was built for could that be causing issues?
At first the source for the kernel was kept private, it has since become public.

The kernel is not built in Visual Studio, it is built from a command prompt.

Install The GCC-m68k toolchain for Windows, open a command prompt, CD to the PcmHacks\Kernels directory and run build.bat

As for moving the kernel in memory, it is easy, however things must all agree with each other, the kernel, and Vehicle.PCMExecute(...).
You cannot just change the memory address in Visual Studio, you must also change it in kernel.ld and rebuild the kernel, it all has to be just right.

In kernel.ld, `.kernel_code` must match Vehicle.PCMExecute(...) in the C# side (CKernelWriter, CKernelReader)
Of course `.kernel_data` cannot over lap `.kernel_code` and vise versa.

Yea, both sides have to match.

It looks to me like The GCC-m68k toolchain for Windows did not get installed or not installed to the hard coded location that is in build.bat

made it thanks yeah changed the install dir, also had data and code over lap but fixed that

I may go into the kernel and remove all the amd stuff and write stuff to try and make a ad only kernel.

also P04 only uses one checksum its not a modular file system like p01 or p59

If you look in the kernels directory you will see a micro-kernel.c and a read-kernel.c, very educational pieces.

A simple demo, used PcmHammer to start a Quick Comparison, once the kernel is loaded, use Task Manager to End Process PcmHammer. (no hurry, wait until it starts requesting CRC's)
At that point, open PuTTY (or your favorite Terminal Program) connected to the same comport PcmHammer used.

Once PuTTY is open hit enter ...

An explanation of whats in the image above, "//" signifies the beginning of a comment.

Why Mode35 returns as 36 is unknown to me ... Typically 40 is added to the command, this one may be different for some reason I do not know, that's up to those smarter then I.

Hope this enlightens someone ...

-Enjoy

Sounds like a comport speed setting issue.

Also in the Oldsmobile and Pontiac cars (and vans) using the same Chassis - GM J, N, U, and W platforms.
As a reminder, I know NOTHING of these modern (Computerized) GM vehicles, I wouldn't know a grand am from a modern GTO or from a Cavalier, or what the F-body or J, N, U, and W platform vehicles are.

I am not a post seventies GM aficionado ...

So with that said, can I get a service number (multiple preferred) for one of these v6 Pcms.

Thank you
