seems like its been an eternity since any progress on this thing, there has been progress just not much to show .... since the last post of the bottom end together we have done the following:

sourced a suitable boost cam - the requirements where nothing that would require a larger converter (already has a ~2500rpm converter in it) and he didn't want to rev it much past 6000rpm....

I believe it should be nice for a streeter, camtechs website says 1800-5500rpm, and from my experience with cams from them you get a bit over where it says in the revs, either way, 5500-6000rpm will be mint I reckon!

we have also procured some suitable valve springs to meet or exceed the specs of the cam card, and just the other day a set of cometic head gaskets have been ordered! so that should pretty well take care of the motor side of things....

we are also going to upgrade the clutches in the box, I have a rebuilt T700 with fucked input shaft, but has all good clutches in it and very few kms, so we are putting them in his box and servicing while its apart.....

so with everything else happening I thought I should get stuck into some head porting so I did!

im not making world beaters, just a quick de-dagging, smoothing of bends and de-shrouding the valve stems a bit, should hopefully give a nice gain in conjunction with the cam!

hoping to try and get it all together in the next week or two!

i dont know why some cam companies still favour the exhaust duration on turbo cams gives more time for exhaust pressure to force back into the chamber with higher exhaust manifold pressure v's inlet

assuming its open when the inlet opens yeah, otherwise I see no issues with it.

not sure how well you can see in the picture, but its actually painted in flat black, I've always been a fan of flat black for diffs and such, and I reckon the brothers choice to use it on the motor is spot on, gives it that same but different finish and looks tops!

yesterday saw a full day of T700's up to my armpits, and that is almost literally! theres one circlip right in the case thats a pain in the ass :P

so end result is i took a T700 with failed input shaft and put all its hi energy frictions and band etc into the brothers T700 to hopefully resolve some issues with splipping clutches..... also added the corvette servo and a gasket/seal kit along the way! its also got a b&m shift kit (street/strip option) so should hopefully respond a bit better than it did before!

i found when stripping the brothers T700 that 3-4 clutches are torched and stock looking, but low gears have hi energy looking clutches already, and its got the larger boost valve in it already, so someones had a play before ... can't work out why they didn't upgrade 3-4 clutches for another $15!

all going well it looks like the boys are coming to collect on the weekend and start install, hopefully be in and ready to dyno in the next week or two.
