honestly I dunno, I've heard anywhere from 14-20 psi depending who you talk to ... I guess its luck of the drawer too, like this motor every cylinder handled whatever boost it was except this one!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: Mint VP V6 Sedan soon to be boosted!
Finally got all the bits and some time to get some done!
good bolts good heads good times
So got my mate to service the heads, bare minimum skim to make sure they are flat, re-cut valve seats and new stem seals!
Theres a set of ACL Race Series head gaskets in between the heads and block so hopefully between that and the arp bolts all the gases will stay in there correct spots!

Re: Mint VP V6 Sedan soon to be boosted!
did you have to cut the ends off the studs to get the manifolds on we had to flush them flat with the nut with a 1mm disc
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

yeah came up really good, one of the things my mate does when servicing heads is sand blast them especially in the chambers, they were clean as, and I used the parts washer to clean the manifold and tappet covers, they came up well!
this car has always been pretty clean so made for an easy job

You bloody jinxed me!!delcowizzid wrote:did you have to cut the ends off the studs to get the manifolds on we had to flush them flat with the nut with a 1mm disc
I went to put a header pipe on and after about 20 seconds not being able to find the hole I worked out that the header wasn't going down far enough so I then washed my hands and shut the roller door and here I am!!
Being that the engine is already in the car I am going to look at grinding the header flange a bit if possible as I'm not real keen to try and grind the studs as they are too hard to get at.
I'm gonna see if my mate has a spare stud I can use to dummy up a motor to work it out.
Other than this issue the motors pretty much ready to start at the moment so once I sort this issue out it shouldn't be too far off going!!
