hi newbie here iv just put a vt s1 motor and box into a vs s1 i changed the vally cover to the vs one and used the vs loom and ecu so all sensors were the same. when starting it runs ruff as guts and stalls engine light comes on.
i purchesed a aldl cable and software to check the error codes , tunerpro 5 hooks up and i get connection in the data sheet the error codes come up but only 13- 56 there should be more yeah ?
error code dtc 43 , 44, 45 are set, checked both the knock sensors and both r connected also in flags says cam signal missing . can anyone help ??

v6 or v8 ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: dtc 43
well the cam angle sensor is in the front of the timing cover below the water pump, check wiring etc for it, also maybe swap sensor from the vs one .... .. while the sensor is out, turn the motor over and see if there is a magnetic pickup in the cam wheel if not it will never work.

Re: dtc 43
no it is the cam sensor, totally seperate ... before going and buying a new one why not use the one from the old motor ? it might not even be the sensor it might be a wiring issue or like i said the magnetic pickup thats in the cam wheel under the timing cover.

yer we took the cam sensor out and turned the engine over and the magnet is there . checked the wires they seem to look ok . and as far as putting the sensor from the other engine in i cant because i
dont have the other engine any more . ( only got a little shed and i got sick of tripping over it) . i got the motor and box off a mate and it was running fine in his vt till he hit a tree at 100k''s . is there
any diffrence in any of the sensors in a vt to the sensors in the vs . we also done the paper clip trick to confirm the codes and only got code 59 and 67 im am guessing 59 dont hane alot to do with it as its to do with the trans fluid temp and unsure on 67 ??????????????????

Vs v6 fault codes ... http://justcommodores.com/articles/vs_computer_v6.php
If your getting different results in tp compared to the paper clip you may not be using the correct adx for logging.

Re: dtc 43
aslong as the chip is burnt correctly it should work ok, and the fact your getting codes out of it i believe means the tune is working.
question is, whats been done to the tune from stock ?
