Hi all, just want to clarify that I'm on the right track -
In the attached screenshot at the 2000rpm 90kpa cell it has a figure of 1.670.
Does this mean that the timing was retarded by 1.670 degrees from what ever it was running at in that cell because knock was detected?
Thanks,
vc81.

Re: Knock Counts
Yes, its showing knock retard in teh cells. At the top of the table it mentions MAP vs Engine RPM vs Knock Retard Value.
Be careful how you interpret the data though as it is showing the running average in your screen shot. Maybe use Running Maximum to show the higest retard value logged.

Re: Knock Counts
So then could you use that value to reduce the timing in those area by that amount that its retarding by? assuming fuel and VE is correct?
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Re: Knock Counts
yes you can ..... but also keep in mind what the rest of the timing table looks like around that area, it can be false knock, but try and remove 1 degrees, then see if in another log it still shows knock in the same area just less retard, that will give you a clue as to if its legitimate knock or false knock (ie. lean spot or engine noise etc)
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
