IDLE annoyance on $51 1.4 ecotec

Hi guys. I have a VS v6 running the1's v1.4 bin on an nvram.

for along time ive been having this issue where when ever the car is started it revs to about 1500 for 15-20 seconds before winding down and the idle stabilises as per normal at the desired rpm. I have tried replacing the iac a few times and cleaning them. they all do the same thing. They take ages to wind down to the correct steps. There are no idle issues after the car has been running.
It's m ore of an inconvenience than an issue. I don't exactly want to cold start a motor that wants to rev to 1500rpm . I have checked for vac leaks, cant find any.

If theres anything in the tune that can be adjusted, id appreciate the advice. Ive had a look under IAC and idle. Couldn't see anything to catch my attention.

do you have a log of the IAC steps at warm idle in park ? its possibly got the throttle screw too far open .....

i dont have a log on me at the moment, but i was monitoring it. The IAC was at 45 steps during normal idle in park when warm.


Also forgot to mention that when i was running the VS supercharged 1.0c bin before going to the ecotec 1.4, the idle would return to normal very quickly after start up. this only started happening when i started using the ecotec 1.4

Thats a good idea. Upon doing that though, i found no differences between the two tunes. The only thing i can see at the moment which might help is perhaps limiting the max iac steps? Or perhaps reducing the iac steps during crank? just an idea. ive attached the image below. Im thinking that some of these values are quite high.

typical when say fitting a larger throttlebody or intake that restrics flow less, try changing the lower coolant temp part of the table to say 96 steps, ive had to take it down to even 50-60 steps with cams or rocker setups with intake and larger throttlebody's

Thanks THE1. That did the trick! pulled it back to around 70 steps. When i start it, revs to around 1100rpm for 3 seconds or so then goes back its normal idling rpm.
