Re: Fault codes
I'd like to log it, but I'm not that clever, yet, may need to work on that, but would obviously help. It's difficult to try unplugging MAP as the car only runs for a short time then fouls up. I need to unplug the fuel pump relay for a while to clear it out. It must be something I've done wrong in pu...

Fault codes
I've just rebuilt my engine after a major failure (VN computer). Same specs, but now runs VERY rich, black soot out the exhaust. No obvious faults, the only thing I figured could cause that much overrich would be a MAP sensor showing full throttle. It's flashing 12 (OK) with the appropriate terminal...

Re: Un stacking bin's
Well thanks for that. I went and looked at all my older 32k versions and some of them where infact all zeros, and I was playing with the most recent version which as I now know was empty. Don't know how that happened. Anyway, I can start again from a version not too far back, which is better than no...

Re: Un stacking bin's
Hi My current bin is 'marobi10_32.bin', a 32k file, which I split into 'split1.bin', 16k. I thought perhaps I had the wrong XDF, but an earlier developement version that I still had in 16k, loads OK. This all comes from my earlier computer falure. I'm using $5d.xdf at the moment, which looks nothing...

Re: Un stacking bin's
Hi, thanks for that. I took my 32k file and split it as you suggested and got a file which I called test1.bin, 16k in size. When I try to load it in Tunerpro it just says, no bin selected. Other 16k files load OK.

Un stacking bin's
I replaced the EPROM in my VN computer with a 28c256 EEPROM and I stacked the bins to fit giving a 32k file. Trouble is I had a computer failure and lost all my 16k bins, still have the 32's but the XDF won't accept the 32k file. How do I unstack my 32k files back to 16K.

Re: BAAM XDF
Thanks for that, Couldn't run the software (NET Framework error), but looked at the data files and pulled out $5D and $AD from the VNV6 folder. They have different tables and functions, etc from what I had before, but my BIN seems to give sensible values with either of them. Can I use either of thes...

BAAM XDF
Just had a computer crash and lost all my Tunerpro stuff. I can get the bin off the memcal, but have no idea what the XDF was. I know the usual response is "search and ye shall find". tried that, couldn't find. Help would be appreciated.

Should I disable the knock sensor
I want to diasable the knock retard. Is it a case of reducing the value in "Maximum knock spark retard" to 0 degrees. Why? Well I don't want to be putting in lots of advance only to have the computer pull it back without me knowing it. Which raises the subject of the output from the knockb...

Re: idle spark advance
Like you, I've only been in and out of the shed a few times. I've done a few laps around the block. It's a fresh motor so I've only revved to 5'ish a few times. Feels OK to me. Just don't like the idea of something spinning to 13,000 rpm in there. The guy at the balancing shop said something about n...
