So you're bridging the plug to put it in diagnostic mode then using a timing light and manually turning dizzy to get 10 degs?

Can't really add anything to this. But it's like its in diagnostic mode where it pegs timing at 10deg.

I would just do an Idle Log and see what hz the maf is reading at the min desired idle rpm. Then set your min maf frequency 2-300hz below idle frequency. That's if the motor is already run in and not fresh and idle afr is reasonable.

All good. Keen to see how this all works out for you. Doing a rebuild on a VP 304 next year myself and I still have my old bananas from the VT.

Wow! Good on her for getting into bikes. My girls loved the trail bikes and now their kids are into them as well. But they were never be game enough to ride a road bike, especially where I am. Too many Uber drivers to look out for.

I thought i'd add some closure to this thread so it may become useful to others rather than being a dead end. Have finally had some time to go after the issues I was having. Turns out it was the MAF causing the dead spot or more to the point, fuel cut. Maf was maxing out a little under 9500hz. As so...
