Re: PCM Hammer 98/99 Black Box Support

Post by antus »

A bit more work has been done on this and I am happy to call it a success. The loose ends are mostly tidied up and its working reliably on my hardware. Service Numbers 9366810 and 16263494 are in, and according to ebay advertisement interchange data I still have some to go, but thats just churning through known OSID lists to get them detected.

Thanks Solitaire for your bin posted here viewtopic.php?p=118986#p118986
I didn't have a lot of BlackBox files around and was able to use your image to test a flash that updates enough sectors that I could consider it a fair test of the flash kernel.

Thanks! Im actually ready to move P04_256k, P04, P08, E54, BlackBox in to develop with this merge request. If NSFW approves, he has a chance to put the hanging exception code in (or not - its a branch he has ready but not merged), then I think its time to build a release candidate and ask for some public testing, then get all this stuff out there! https://github.com/LegacyNsfw/PcmHacks/pull/346/files

I also have a P05b thats in this country, but not in my hands yet. I know thats dual protocol, I think it should not be too hard to get it implemented on the VPW side, so there is a chance that'll get in the next pcmhammer release depending on how things go.

Another forum member just asked me for pics of the 4 connector black box boards, so I'll also post here.

Those SMD components look hand placed. What an operation to assemble all the Black Box PCMS without robot positioning!

Thanks for that. I believe 4 connector Blackbox is 100% working for the moment, but I think we are close to the next pcmhammer release. I'll post a public beta in a new thread at some stage in the near future.
