Edit: Tried a second read and it went, but by 10% it was over 20 retries and was looking like it was going to take a half an hour and I didn't have that long to wait around. Can re-engage that tonight to see if I can get a successful read.
This blackbox has the same OS as in your original post, it is a 4 plug unit in a 99 Chevy K2500. Here's the properties.

Re: PCM Hammer 98/99 Black Box Support
Yeah the scantool devices are pretty rubbish. They are a very slow protocol and also don't support 4x speed. I would like to drop support for them, but I guess slow is better than not at all and it should keep working if we just leave the code in there.

Re: PCM Hammer 98/99 Black Box Support
I've been occasionally getting that same Object reference error during crc checks, restarting my laptop usually solves it for a while so I can get a few reads/writes before it starts throwing the error again.V8fan wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 8:21 am It reads but crc check procedure not started

I have a VATS-disabled BIN for a 2000 Tahoe 5.7. When I clone it, all the ranges show as identical. Does this mean the VATS delete is not being written?

Re: PCM Hammer 98/99 Black Box Support
You mean before or after it writes the changes? If before, no changes to be written. If after, then it worked and passed the self check it was successful
Thanks for posting a success report. I know 98/99 black box is working, but we've had almost zero feedback so a report of success is welcome and helpful and its good to know someone is using it.
