hahaha nah just been there done that LOL.seems every engine is different to i used 2nd hand stud kit that had allready been trimmed down and when fitted in the next engine they still needed more off after putting sealant on and doing them up into the block hand tight .the last guy must of cut them off with the studs wound in hard with an allen key LOL

dont do them up tight or it could result in more blown gaskets you end up putting all the load through 1 thread shouldnt be any tighter than hand tight/allen key very softly tightened.it definately shouldnt be tightened till it gets hard to turn

no i don't normally do them that hard, but it also seems to always spin them to a certain tightness when you torque them anyways.

yeah been slow, find it hard to go out into the shed when its 5 degrees !! :P

got the motor back together and the turbo piping is all done, and the motors been fired up. just waiting on a few silicone bends I've ordered for the intercooler pipe work hopefully a week or two and it will be nearly done, then the brother plans to get it on the dyno for a check over etc.

as far as if your looking at this to see if you should do it or not, I say go hard, no reason I can think of not to :)

had to cut half of the bumper support bar away to fit the pipes in but I suitably re-inforced it with some square tube beside the part that was left :)

all that's left to do really is to make some brackets to support some of the pipework and put it all back together and shes ready to go!

the brother is hoping everything pans out and we might see some dyno time this Saturday, but that's just a thought at this stage dependant on everyone being available etc.

yeah we want to do 340hp at the treads :) I don't think its possible but that would make a certain mate with a N/A 304 quite cranky and we like stirring him cause he's a "fuck the 6 just put a v8 in it" man :)

honestly I think anything 250hp ish would be great for what it is.
